A good bra is important that supports the surrounding muscles of your breasts, and creates a normal posture, providing proper blood circulation in your body. This helps in avoiding several health problems, which a wrongly worn bra can create. Similarly, a Ladies Sports Bra is a bra worn to allot support to your breasts while working out. A right sports bra can also muffle breast sagging that usually happens as women age.

Compared to regular bras, a Sports bra is designed for intense sports and workout, to lessen breast motility, to provide additional comfort to breasts, and to handle sweat. Additionally, wearing a sports bra keeps your breasts in great shape and prevents them from sagging.

Wearing a traditional bra for exercising can increase breast movements causing difficulty in the workout. Because the ligaments and skin around the breast are sensitive, a high impact workout or sports activity can jerk them frequently. When you exercise without a sports bra, the ligaments around your breasts stretch, causing pain and drooping of the breast. Therefore, it is necessary to wear a sports bra while you play any outdoor games or exercise.

Benefits Of Wearing A Sports Bra

Gone are the days when sports bras were only worn for workouts and sports. A good sports bra is now a fashion trend for girls and women preferring comfort over seductiveness. Hence, sports bras are a great alternative and beneficial for a fashion woman.

  • Style with comfort – A good sports bra provides great comfort and support during high-intensity workouts and sports. Sports bra comforts the ligaments surrounding your breasts without making them feel compressed. They maintain your breasts in proper shape and prevent premature drooping and sagging of breasts. Sports bra minimize breast movements and reduce pain and discomfort caused due to stretched skin and ligaments.
  • Keeps you cool and dry – Many Sports bras are designed with a variety of lightweight fabrics that provide proper airflow to your skin and also help regulate sweat keeping you cool and dry.

How To Choose The Correct Ladies Sports Bra?

Nowadays Sports bras come in various categories depending on your activity and the required level of support. To find your perfect size know your band size first. Use a measuring tape to help you record your measurements above your breasts and also around the entire part of your bust. Now subtract the two measurements and find your cup size in inches.

Now based on activity and impact determine your correct sports bra. Depending on the level of impact they are classified into three categories namely Encapsulation bras, Compression bras, and the combination of compression and encapsulation.

  • A low-impact sports bra or Encapsulation bras are suitable for yoga and squats. It is like a regular bra that provides minimum breast support and is ideal for daily wear.
  • A medium-impact sports bra or Compression bras are ideal for walking and cycling. They have a clasp closure that compresses the breasts to prevent bounce.
  • A high-impact sports bra or Combined compression and encapsulation bra is ideal for intense activities like jumping, running, dancing, and mountain biking.

Compression bras hold the breasts tightly so they are suitable for small to medium-sized breasts. Women with cup size A to C can choose compression sports bras, while women with cup sizes D can go for Encapsulation bras. Make sure to replace your sports bras every six to twelve months.
