Today we bring you, the all-time most popular Indian television vamps, who got immense popularity not only for their acting skills but also for their onscreen look. Television has become an essential part of our everyday routine and so are the daily soaps and reality shows. Daily soap is incomplete without the presence of vamps, just like a Bollywood movie is without villains.

No tv serial can be successful without them. Their presence in the show, not only creates troubles for female leads, but they also add up spice and thrills to the show making it more exciting to watch. Komolika, the most iconic and talked-about vamp of the Indian television industry.  Television actress Urvashi Dholakia played the role of Komalika in Kasauti Zindagi Kay. Komolika’s level of evilness, fashion sense, huge bindis, winged eyeliner, kajal, stylish blouses made her one of the most popular Indian television vamps. Her signature background tunes, her manipulative moves, her tantrums, attitude while rolling her fingers in her hair fringes, made her the most stylish female vamp on television. The popularity of Komolika also helped Urvashi to be the winner of the Bigg Boss season 6 in early 2013.

Urvashi Dholakia made her comeback in 2017 with Chandrakanta, a television series on Colors TV. The character of Queen Iravati was built upon Snowhite’s evil queen. Her character was very stylish, charismatic, and strongest amongst the whole star cast of the show Chandrakanta. The evil Queen Iravati was vicious, cruel, and very manipulative. By hook or crook, she wanted to conquer Vijaygarh and its people for which she even didn’t hesitate to use her foster son as her pawn.

 

2. Mandira Bedi as Dr. Mandira Kapadia in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

The tv show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi aired almost for a decade. Everyone used to stick to their tv screens to watch their Adarsh Bahu Tulsi Virani. Who knew the sweet, innocent-looking Dr. Mona who saved Mihir’s life, will come across as a vamp and steal Mihir – Tulsi’s husband. Even though Tulsi was the main character of the show, Dr. Mona aka Mandira, the other woman in Mihir’s life, successfully managed equally to grab the audience’s attention.

Sudha Chandran is the most feared vamp of Indian television. This legendary actress has played negative roles for years at her best. Ramola Sikand in Kahin Kisi Roz and Yamini in Naagin 1 & 2. Sudha Chandran defined the role of most cunning and vicious, mother and mother-in-law on screen. She portrayed the negative role of an ignorant woman who ruled a village Veerpur, where social evils like female foeticide continued. The show was about the conflict to raze Ammaji’s evil cultures. The moral of the show was to give women equal rights and stop female foeticide. Even though her character was so negative in the first season, in Laado 2 she was seen as a transformed woman trying to change people’s mindset in the village.

The most beautiful and graceful actress, Rashmi Desai ruled many hearts on the small screen with her character Tapasya in Uttaran. Her character turns negative when she goes against her own best friend Ichcha to get the man she loved. Post-Uttaran, she was seen with another negative role in Adhuri Kahaani Hamari. Rashmi Desai performed the character of a witch named Preeti in the post-rebirth story of Adhuri Kahaani Hamari.

6. Adaa Khan as Shesha in Naagin 2

The popularity of Naagin season one was the reason the show returned with its seasons 2 and 3. Seasons 1 & 2 are about female serpents Shivanya (Mouni Roy) and Shesha (Adaa Khan), trying to protect a magical gem called Naagmani from a greedy woman Yamini (Sudha Chandran) who wanted to own the supernatural powers of Naagmani. Adaa Khan played a positive role as Shivanya’s cousin sister in Naagin season one. She played a negative role plotting against Shivanya in the second season. Jennifer Winget played a successful businesswoman and an owner of a fashion magazine, who had a troubled childhood. Moreover, she plots against her mother-in-law and even planned to kill her mother. She was loved by the viewers regardless of her negative role.

 

8. Hina Khan as Komolika in the reboot of Kasautii Zindagii Kay

Komolika was the much-awaited character in the reboot of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Hina Khan is playing the iconic vamp Komolika in the reboot of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, which was first played by Urvashi Dholakia. She looks extremely beautiful in her jewelry, nose-ring, bracelet, finger rings, lehenga, dupatta, and backless blouses. The TRP of the show has improved on TRP charts especially after the entry of Hina Khan as Komolika.
