21 June International Yoga Day – The International world yoga day was first celebrated on 21st June 2015. The present Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi proposed in this regard in the United Nations. Since then it’s been celebrated on 21 June as International yoga day.

UN General Assembly president Sam Kutesa congratulated Modi for this initiative, and in less than three months after his proposal, the General Assembly adopted 21 June as International Yoga Day. This proposal was also supported by more than 170 countries of the world to promote the tremendous invisible and visual benefits of yoga. The President of the United Nations General Assembly also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his initiative to celebrate 21 June as International Yoga Day every year.
World Yoga Day aims to make people aware of the benefits of yoga throughout the world. Its main purpose is to connect the people of the whole world with yoga that can convert the world into a healthy and happy family.
In India Ministry of Ayush celebrates International Yoga Day. The Prime Minister Yog Prize is also announced on this day. On this day people from all over the world gather unitedly in the open grounds and perform Yoga in the morning. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi also takes part in it and explains the importance of yoga to the people. Yoga holds great importance in our lives because it relieves us from many kinds of diseases and keeps us healthy.
